This is a wall shelf with hooks underneath for hanging keys, masks and much more. The shelf is good for cell phones, sunglasses, etc.  Great by the door for all the stuff you need to put somewhere, but don't put away. 

This 1932 picture of the Chrysler Building was taken from the Empire State Building.  It captures a classic time of the Manhattan skyline.  The image in the tray is a map of NYC from the same period and the metal edgingis reminiscient of the architectural detailing of the era.
