We all need places to gather the things we use everyday. The objects we choose for this purpose should be more than just useful. They should provide interest, even inspiration. I create pieces for this purpose using vintage and salvaged materials because of the history these materials carry and the stories they can inspire. How often do you see a rooster spending time with his little ones? The image in the tray is from a 1914 catalog that had everything from poultry fencing to trumpets. I edged the shelf with a yardstick like the ones they used to give away at the feed and hardware stores.
