We all need places to gather the things we use everyday. The objects we choose for this purpose should be more than just useful. They should provide interest, even inspiration. I create pieces for this purpose using vintage and salvaged materials because of the history these materials carry and the stories they can inspire. Description
I was drawn to this picture because I love roadside attractions. I didn't realize at the time how well known it was. So many people I meet from Minnesota have memories of Paul Bunyan and Babe his blue ox. The statues were created in 1937 as part of a winter carnival in Bemidji, MN and have remained ever since. The image in the tray is a map of Minnesota and the shelf is edged with a vintage license plate.
