We all need places to gather the things we use everyday. The objects we choose for this purpose should be more than just useful. They should provide interest, even inspiration. I create pieces for this purpose using vintage and salvaged materials because of the history these materials carry and the stories they can inspire. In tough times a little humor goes a long way. This picture was taken in England around WWII. The image in the tray is from a 1914 catalog that sold just about everything and shelf is edged with a vintage yardstick. The vintage yardstick will vary with each one.
